Portrait of Youssef Imghi, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Portus Advisory International

Founder

Youssef Imghi

Founder & CEO

Youssef Imghi has spent more than thirty years in port and infrastructure development, in jobs that mixed institutional responsibility with engineering delivery and with answering for how the place ran on any given day.

He was Chief Executive Officer of Tanger Med Engineering, Regional Director of the Port of Casablanca, and Director of the Ports of Jorf Lasfar and El Jadida. He chaired SONARGES, and he represents the Port of Antwerp-Bruges in Morocco.

Between them, those posts cover most of a port's life. Setting the strategy and the governance. Planning what gets built and in what order. Structuring the investment and the concessions. Delivering the programmes, and then operating what was delivered. They also cover both sides of the table, the public institution and the operating company, which is a different education altogether.

He founded Portus Advisory International to bring that to governments, port authorities, investors and industrial groups, in the cases where the strategic, the institutional and the operational questions turn out to be the same question.
